Text Box: Mabel's Bonnets - Marie c. 1792 By this date the exuberance in hair styles which had characterized the 1780's was over.  Hair was dressed more closely to the head, close-fitting silk caps were worn with every type of half and full dress toilette.  A variety of wide brim style were worn with a pronounced sideways tilt or with brims dipping down at front and back.  Frivolity and wit was in evidence in the use of trimmings, especially artificial flowers and veils Height: 10 inches Cost: $250.00
